FAQ's
Important Shipping Information
We strive to process and ship your orders as quickly as possible! However, as a husband-and-wife operated business with no additional staff, there will be occasional pauses in shipping when we’re out of town.
For the most current updates on shipping status and any temporary holds, please check the black announcement bar at the top of every page on our site.
Thank you for choosing to support our small family business—your patience and understanding mean the world to us!
I just placed an order, when will it ship?
We try our best to ship items as fast as we can. We ship out orders on Mondays, Tuesdays, and most Wednesdays — because even plants deserve a weekend.
Where are my items shipped from?
Every plant is packed and shipped directly from my greenhouses in Colorado Springs, CO USA.
FAQ: Do I need a heat pack for my plant order during cold weather?
Yes — during fall, winter, and early spring (generally when nighttime or daytime temperatures along the shipping route or at your location are expected to drop below 40°F / 10°C), we strongly recommend (and in many cases require) adding a 72-hour heat pack to any order containing live tropical or highland carnivorous plants (Nepenthes, Heliamphora, most Drosera, etc.).
Why is a heat pack necessary?
• Temperatures below 50°F can cause cold damage, chilling injury, or even death to temperature-sensitive plants during transit.
• Even if daytime highs are warm, packages often sit in cold warehouses, trucks, or delivery vehicles overnight.
• For tropical and highland species, we cannot guarantee live arrival without a heat pack when cold weather is forecasted anywhere along the shipping route.
• Any order containing highland/ultrahighland Nepenthes, Heliamphora, or other cold-sensitive species when temperatures are below 40°F.
How to add a heat pack:
You can purchase our 72-Hour Heat Pack here:
This heat pack is only available as an add-on with live plant orders and cannot be purchased separately.
Live Arrival Guarantee & Heat Packs
Our Live Arrival Guarantee is only valid during colder months when:
• A heat pack was included for all shipments when temperatures may drop below 40°F, and
• The package is brought indoors promptly upon delivery (within 1–2 hours of the first delivery attempt).
Thank you for helping us get your plants to you happy and healthy
How will my plant be packaged?
All plants are carefully packed and shipped bare-root. Most are wrapped in moss, then in a paper towel and plastic wrap to ensure their safety and health during transit. We take great pride in preparing each order with care—your plants will be lovingly handled and securely packaged to arrive in excellent condition.

Do you use recycled packaging?
Yes! We do our best to reduce, reuse, and recycle. That means your plants might arrive wrapped in repurposed newspaper, festive wrapping paper left over from holidays, birthdays and Christmas, or even recycled packing peanuts. It may not always look uniform, but it helps us cut down on waste—and keeps your plants safe on their journey to you.
Are you open for visits or in-person purchases?
We’re not currently open for retail sales or in-person visits. However, we host an annual Open Day—usually in July or August—where you can visit, shop, and enjoy the space. Attendance is by RSVP only, so keep an eye out for our announcement to secure your spot.
Can you ship plants outside the USA?
I can’t ship live plants outside of the USA at this time. If your country allows declared clean seed imports, I can ship seeds to most countries.
What will my plant look like when it arrives?
Because we carry a wide variety of carnivorous plants, the photos on the site are representative images of mature specimens. Your plant may not look exactly like the photo—especially if it’s a younger or starter plant—but rest assured, I always ship the healthiest, largest specimen available at the time. Some species take years to reach full maturity, so part of the joy is watching them grow over time. Remember temperate carnivorous plants will be dormant usually late October–April.
I am not in love with my order, can it be returned? What if there is an issue?
No Returns (Because Plants Are Divas)
We love our plants and send them off looking their absolute best — but once they leave the greenhouse, they’re out in the wild world of mail trucks, doorsteps, and unpredictable weather.
Because they’re live plants (not socks or toasters), we can’t accept returns or exchanges. That said, if your plant arrives in rough shape, send us a photo right away. We’ll do our best to make it right.
Thanks for understanding — and for giving our plants a great new home!
Can I cancel my order?
You are able to cancel your order with no penalty! You must cancel before it ships.
I have entered an incorrect address, what do I do now?
If we've not yet shipped, simply reply to your order confirmation email or contact us at jeremiahsplants@gmail.com. We can update the address as long as the order hasn’t left the greenhouse. Once it’s shipped, we unfortunately cannot change the address or issue a refund for an incorrect submission.
How long does shipping take?
We ship out orders on Mondays, Tuesdays, and most Wednesdays — because even plants deserve a weekend.
I have a question that wasn't answered, can you please help?
Absolutely! We’re here to help. Please email us at jeremiahsplants@gmail.com. For the fastest response, include your order number and clearly explain the issue. We get a lot of emails, but we’ll get back to you as soon as we can!
