Growing Tips

• Use a well draining, acidic medium such as a 1:1 mix of peat moss and perlite or sand to mimic their native bog habitat.
• Provide full sun to partial shade and keep the soil consistently moist, use the tray method with distilled or rainwater to maintain bog like conditions.
• Be patient, Sarracenia seeds often require cold stratification, a period of 4 to 6 weeks in the fridge, before sowing, and germination can take several weeks to months.
• Sow seeds lightly on the surface without burying them.
• A lot of growers have great success growing under 24 hour LED lights for the first year or two.
• Once sprouted, fertilize regularly with a seaweed based fertilizer like Maxsea.
