Sarracenia Seed
This is a mix of 2026 seed collected from across my Sarracenia collection. Because it comes from so many different plants, you should see a lot of variation in what comes up. Some seedlings may grow tall and upright, some may stay low and squat, and you could get anything from bright reds and heavy veining to white tops and green forms. Sarracenia do not come true from seed, so every plant you raise from this pack is its own individual. Who knows, you might find your next favorite plant in here.
The Freshest Seed Around
Each pack contains roughly 40 seeds, harvested in 2026.
Bring home the wonder of carnivorous plants with our premium Sarracenia seed, carefully harvested and handled to ensure maximum freshness and viability. These exotic seeds give you the chance to grow your very own North American pitcher plants from the very beginning, watching each stage of development from tiny sprout to elegant, insect catching beauty.
Seed Guarantee
While I cannot guarantee individual success with germination, I only sell seed that looks fresh and viable to me.

Growing Tips
- Use a well draining, acidic medium such as a 1:1 mix of peat moss and perlite or sand to mimic their native bog habitat.
- Provide full sun to partial shade and keep the soil consistently moist. Use the tray method with distilled or rainwater to maintain bog like conditions.
- Be patient. Sarracenia seeds need cold stratification (4 to 6 weeks in the fridge) before sowing, and germination can take several weeks to months, but the reward is well worth the wait.
- Sow seeds lightly on the surface without burying them, as they need light to germinate effectively.
- Once sprouted, maintain high humidity with a clear plastic dome or humidity tent until seedlings are established, then gradually acclimate to lower humidity.
