Growing Tips

• Use a well-draining, acidic medium such as a 1:1 mix of peat moss and perlite or sand to mimic their native bog habitat.
• Provide full sun to partial shade and keep the soil consistently moist—use the tray method with distilled or rainwater to maintain bog-like conditions.
• Be patient—Sarracenia seeds often require cold stratification (a period of 4-6 weeks in the fridge) before sowing, and germination can take several weeks to months, but the reward is well worth the wait.
• Sow seeds lightly on the surface without burying them.
• A lot of growers have great success growing under 24 hour LED lights for the first year or two. 
• Once sprouted, fertilize regularly with a seaweed based fertilizer like Maxsea.
