Growing Tips

• Use a well draining, acidic medium such as a 1:1 mix of peat moss and perlite or sand to mimic their native bog habitat.
• Provide full sun to partial shade and keep the soil consistently moist. Use the tray method with distilled or rainwater to maintain bog like conditions.
• Be patient. Sarracenia seeds need cold stratification (4 to 6 weeks in the fridge) before sowing, and germination can take several weeks to months, but the reward is well worth the wait.
• Sow seeds lightly on the surface without burying them, as they need light to germinate effectively.
• Once sprouted, maintain high humidity with a clear plastic dome or humidity tent until seedlings are established, then gradually acclimate to lower humidity.
