Live Bare-Root Heliamphora – South American Sun Pitcher Plant
Add a touch of the tepui highlands to your collection with this stunning Heliamphora! Known as the “sun pitcher” or “marsh pitcher,” Heliamphora are some of the most beautiful and rewarding carnivorous plants you can grow. Their elegant, nectar-spoon-tipped pitchers glow in vivid reds and greens under bright light — a living jewel for intermediate and advanced growers.
• 100% bare-root, healthy division or mature seedling (exact size in photos)
• Grown in our greenhouse under ideal highland conditions
• Ethically propagated — never wild-collected
Why growers love Heliamphora:
• Dramatic color: Intense red, orange, and green pitchers when given strong light
• Unique nectar spoons that glisten with sweet lure
• Cooler-temperature carnivore — perfect for unheated greenhouses, terrariums, or highland chambers
• Actively catches fungus gnats, fruit flies, and small insects on its own
Care level: Intermediate to advanced
Ideal conditions:
• Bright, indirect to direct sunlight (or strong LED grow lights)
• Cool nights: 50–65 °F (10–18 °C) strongly preferred
• Day temps: 70–85 °F (21–29 °C)
• High humidity (70%+) and excellent air circulation
• Pure water only: rainwater, distilled, or reverse-osmosis
• Media: live sphagnum, peat/perlite mix, or long-fiber sphagnum/perlite mix
Each plant is carefully washed, wrapped in damp long-fiber sphagnum, and shipped bare-root to ensure the healthiest possible arrival. We ship Mondays–Wednesdays to avoid weekend delays.
Ready to take your carnivorous plant game to the next level? This Heliamphora will reward you with bigger, more colorful pitchers every season!
