Heliamphora x heterodoxa x ionasi (Shipped Bare-Root)

This elegant hybrid combines the upright, gently curved pitchers of Heliamphora heterodoxa from the Ptari-tepui and Sororopan-tepui region with the high-altitude vigor of H. ionasi from between Ilu and Tramen Tepui. Expect gracefully flaring hoods and rich coloration under bright light, a sophisticated addition for collectors seeking tepui genetics in hybrid form.

Care Requirements

Light — Bright indirect light or moderate direct sun. Avoid intense midday sun — Heliamphora prefer cooler, highland conditions.

Water — Pure water only, under 50ppm dissolved solids. Use distilled, reverse osmosis, or collected rainwater. Most tap water will not work. Keep the pitchers partially filled with water and the soil consistently moist.

Temperature — Cool to intermediate. Day temps of 65–80°F (18–27°C) with cooler nights of 45–60°F (7–16°C). Many species require cool nights year-round.

Soil — Pure long-fiber sphagnum moss or a mix of peat and perlite. Garden soil will not work.

Humidity — High humidity preferred, 60–90%. A terrarium or greenhouse setup is ideal for most species.
