Processing Time
We strive to process and ship orders as quickly as possible. However, as a husband and wife operated business with no additional staff, there will be occasional pauses in shipping when we're out of town. For the most current updates on shipping status and any temporary holds, please check the announcement bar at the top of every page on our site.
Thank you for choosing to support our small family business, your patience and understanding mean the world to us.
How Plants Are Shipped
All plants are carefully packed and shipped bare root, wrapped in moss to keep them safe and hydrated during transit. Every order is prepared with care and packaged securely to arrive in excellent condition. All items ship from our greenhouses in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Plants ship year round. Temperate plants shipped during the winter months will appear smaller because they are dormant during that season.
Heat Packs for Cold Weather
During fall, winter, and early spring, generally when temperatures along the shipping route or at your location are expected to drop below freezing, we strongly recommend, and in many cases require, adding a 72 hour heat pack to any order containing live tropical or highland carnivorous plants (Nepenthes, Heliamphora, most Drosera, etc.).
Why it matters:
- Temperatures below freezing can cause cold damage, chilling injury, or even death to temperature sensitive plants during transit.
- Even if daytime highs are warm, packages often sit in cold warehouses, trucks, or delivery vehicles overnight.
- For tropical and highland species, we cannot guarantee live arrival without a heat pack when cold weather is forecasted anywhere along the shipping route.
You can add our 72 hour heat pack to your order. It is only available as an add on with live plant orders and cannot be purchased separately.
Live Arrival Guarantee
Our Live Arrival Guarantee during colder months is only valid when:
- A heat pack was included for any shipment where temperatures may drop below freezing, and
- The package is brought indoors promptly upon delivery, within 1 to 2 hours of the first delivery attempt.
