Heliamphora chimantensis Chimanta AW 2020 Clone hails from the misty heights of Venezuela's Chimantá Massif, thriving at 1900–2100 meters where few species dare venture. This Andreas Wistuba introduction displays striking yellowish-green pitchers that blush deep red at maturity, crowned with a near-vertical, ruby-red nectar spoon bearing irregular gland patches—a high-altitude alpine gem for the serious collector.

Care Requirements

Light — Bright indirect light or moderate direct sun. Avoid intense midday sun — Heliamphora prefer cooler, highland conditions.

Water — Pure water only, under 50ppm dissolved solids. Use distilled, reverse osmosis, or collected rainwater. Most tap water will not work. Keep the pitchers partially filled with water and the soil consistently moist.

Temperature — Cool to intermediate. Day temps of 65–80°F (18–27°C) with cooler nights of 45–60°F (7–16°C). Many species require cool nights year-round.

Soil — Pure long-fiber sphagnum moss or a mix of peat and perlite. Garden soil will not work.

Humidity — High humidity preferred, 60–90%. A terrarium or greenhouse setup is ideal for most species.
