Heliamphora minor var. pilosa AW Clone 2 hails from the cloud-shrouded summit of Auyán-tepui in Venezuela, where this hairy variant thrives at elevations exceeding 1900 meters. Distinguished by dense pilosity covering both pitcher surfaces, this Andreas Wistuba clone produces squat, sculptural traps reaching 15cm tall with blood-red coloration and an elegant oval nectar spoon positioned at 45 degrees—a masterpiece of highland adaptation.
Care Requirements
Light — Bright indirect light or moderate direct sun. Avoid intense midday sun — Heliamphora prefer cooler, highland conditions.
Water — Pure water only, under 50ppm dissolved solids. Use distilled, reverse osmosis, or collected rainwater. Most tap water will not work. Keep the pitchers partially filled with water and the soil consistently moist.
Temperature — Cool to intermediate. Day temps of 65–80°F (18–27°C) with cooler nights of 45–60°F (7–16°C). Many species require cool nights year-round.
Soil — Pure long-fiber sphagnum moss or a mix of peat and perlite. Garden soil will not work.
Humidity — High humidity preferred, 60–90%. A terrarium or greenhouse setup is ideal for most species.
