Heliamphora sarracenioides JS represents a distinctive clone of this ultra-high-altitude Ptari Tepui endemic, prized for its notably compact growth habit and elegant pitcher architecture. Native to 2400–2450 meters on Venezuela's inhospitable summit, this species eschews the typical nectar spoon entirely—instead forming a dramatic hood-like leaf extension with variably wavy margins that crowns each pitcher, creating a striking silhouette for the serious collector.

Care Requirements

Light — Bright indirect light or moderate direct sun. Avoid intense midday sun — Heliamphora prefer cooler, highland conditions.

Water — Pure water only, under 50ppm dissolved solids. Use distilled, reverse osmosis, or collected rainwater. Most tap water will not work. Keep the pitchers partially filled with water and the soil consistently moist.

Temperature — Cool to intermediate. Day temps of 65–80°F (18–27°C) with cooler nights of 45–60°F (7–16°C). Many species require cool nights year-round.

Soil — Pure long-fiber sphagnum moss or a mix of peat and perlite. Garden soil will not work.

Humidity — High humidity preferred, 60–90%. A terrarium or greenhouse setup is ideal for most species.
