This remarkable natural hybrid from Ptari Tepui blends the genetics of two species that frequently interbreed at 2,400+ meters elevation, where hybrid populations sometimes outnumber their parents. The BCP clone 2 inherits the distinctive hooded pitcher architecture of H. sarracenioides—notably lacking the typical nectar spoon—combined with the purpurascent coloration of H. purpurascens, creating a visually striking and genetically significant carnivore for advanced collectors.

Care Requirements

Light — Bright indirect light or moderate direct sun. Avoid intense midday sun — Heliamphora prefer cooler, highland conditions.

Water — Pure water only, under 50ppm dissolved solids. Use distilled, reverse osmosis, or collected rainwater. Most tap water will not work. Keep the pitchers partially filled with water and the soil consistently moist.

Temperature — Cool to intermediate. Day temps of 65–80°F (18–27°C) with cooler nights of 45–60°F (7–16°C). Many species require cool nights year-round.

Soil — Pure long-fiber sphagnum moss or a mix of peat and perlite. Garden soil will not work.

Humidity — High humidity preferred, 60–90%. A terrarium or greenhouse setup is ideal for most species.
