Sarracenia x Arthur Wheeler (Shipped Bare-Root)

Bred by Gary Wheeler of West Cornwall Carnivores and named for his father, this complex hybrid crosses S. leucophylla with (S. flava × S. rubra) and (S. leucophylla × S. alata) to create a remarkable seasonal transformation—spring pitchers emerge green before developing copper tones with dark veining, ultimately maturing to brilliant white with pronounced red venation and an undulating lid. Selected from numerous seedlings for its exceptional coloration that stood out even among Wheeler's collection of vibrant hybrids, it has earned formal cultivar status and strong standing in the collector community.

Our bare root Sarracenia (North American pitcher plants) are shipped according to their natural growing cycle. During the active growing season (spring through early fall), you'll receive a plant with live foliage, often including vibrant pitchers. In the winter months, Sarracenia naturally enter dormancy, and will be shipped without leaves or with brown, dying pitchers—this is completely normal and essential for the plant's long-term health.
