It holds consistent moisture perfectly, fits nicely in trays or humid setups for bottom watering, and has great drainage holes to avoid sogginess.

The substrate is my trusted pure long fiber sphagnum moss (sourced from clean, high-quality stuff), with its natural airy structure that retains moisture like a champ while letting roots breathe and stay oxygenated. It brings those built-in anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties to help prevent rot, plus it creates the ideal acidic, low-mineral environment without any junk that could mess with pH. No mixing or prepping needed, just soak it lightly if you want, drop in your plant, water with distilled or rainwater, and you’re good. Lots of folks see quicker rooting and healthier starts with this over basic mixes for small plants.
