Heliamphora minor var. pilosa Ask Drew Clone (Shipped Bare-Root)

Heliamphora minor var. pilosa 'Ask Drew Clone' hails from the cloud-shrouded heights of Auyán Tepui and Cerro la Luna, where it thrives at elevations between 1,650 and 2,500 meters. This hairy variant produces dramatic 10-15cm pitchers clothed in striking white setae, transitioning from green to deep crimson-black with a stunning two-toned contrast that rewards close observation. The narrow-necked spoon, angled above each pitcher opening, delivers sweet nectar to lure prey into the tubular trap—a clone selected for its exceptional pigmentation and collector appeal.

Care Requirements

Light — Bright indirect light or moderate direct sun. Avoid intense midday sun — Heliamphora prefer cooler, highland conditions.

Water — Pure water only, under 50ppm dissolved solids. Use distilled, reverse osmosis, or collected rainwater. Most tap water will not work. Keep the pitchers partially filled with water and the soil consistently moist.

Temperature — Cool to intermediate. Day temps of 65–80°F (18–27°C) with cooler nights of 45–60°F (7–16°C). Many species require cool nights year-round.

Soil — Pure long-fiber sphagnum moss or a mix of peat and perlite. Garden soil will not work.

Humidity — High humidity preferred, 60–90%. A terrarium or greenhouse setup is ideal for most species.
