This complex three-way hybrid unites bloodlines from three distinct Venezuelan tepuis—Cerro Duida's towering H. tatei with robust pitchers reaching 50 cm, combined with the chartreuse and crimson nectar spoon traits of H. arenicola and the vibrant peach suffusion of H. ionasi. The Cerro Duida clone A represents a sophisticated cross for collectors seeking dramatic pitcher architecture with exceptional color complexity, blending high-altitude genetics (1800–2600m) in a single exceptional plant.
Care Requirements
Light — Bright indirect light or moderate direct sun. Avoid intense midday sun — Heliamphora prefer cooler, highland conditions.
Water — Pure water only, under 50ppm dissolved solids. Use distilled, reverse osmosis, or collected rainwater. Most tap water will not work. Keep the pitchers partially filled with water and the soil consistently moist.
Temperature — Cool to intermediate. Day temps of 65–80°F (18–27°C) with cooler nights of 45–60°F (7–16°C). Many species require cool nights year-round.
Soil — Pure long-fiber sphagnum moss or a mix of peat and perlite. Garden soil will not work.
Humidity — High humidity preferred, 60–90%. A terrarium or greenhouse setup is ideal for most species.
