This Sumatran-Bornean cross combines two of Nepenthes' most formidable peristome specialists: deep purple-pitchered N. izumiae from the Barisan Mountains with the legendarily toothy N. villosa of Mount Kinabalu's alpine slopes. Collectors prize this hybrid for its squat, heavily dentate pitchers that merge izumiae's dark coloration with villosa's fearsome peristome teeth—a powerhouse combination that consistently produces exhibition-quality specimens.
