These Taerwe Tropicals imports are still fairly new, brought in during July 2026, so yours may arrive without an active pitcher just yet. They have had enough time in my care to settle in well, and I am confident they will grow great once they have found their new home.
This cross pairs a compact, squat selection of Nepenthes truncata originating from Exotica Plants of Australia with a giant striped form of truncata, prized for its bold red and lime green striping.
Nepenthes truncata squat EP contributes a broad, thick pitcher structure in a more compact form than is typical for the species, along with lowland vigor. The giant striped truncata parent adds significant size potential along with the vivid red striping seen across the peristome and lid.
Nepenthes truncata is native to the Philippines and known for its dramatic pitcher size and dense coloration. Expect offspring carrying strong vigor along with rich striping inherited from both parent forms.
Sourced directly from Taerwe Tropicals of Belgium through our exclusive US partnership.
