This collector's clone represents a numbered selection of the federally endangered green pitcher plant from Alabama's Sand Mountain, a Cumberland Plateau extension where wild S. oreophila clings to existence. Prized for its extreme cold-hardiness and the vigor it imparts to hybrids, Sand Mountain clones typically display chocolate veining on spring pitchers that mature to golden yellow-green in full sun, with the characteristically wide-mouthed form and gently doming lid of all Mountain Trumpets.
Our bare root Sarracenia (North American pitcher plants) are shipped according to their natural growing cycle. During the active growing season (spring through early fall), you'll receive a plant with live foliage, often including vibrant pitchers.
