Selected by Ian Salter from a batch of seedlings at PJ Plants (holder of the UK's National Plant Heritage Collection of Sarracenia), this compact cultivar reaches just 35-45 cm and commands premium prices among collectors for its dramatic coloration—glowing deep red-purple pitchers contrast strikingly against near-black lips and throats that drip with nectar. All current divisions trace back to Salter's original selection, making this a rare and highly prized clone in the Sarracenia community.

Our bare root Sarracenia (North American pitcher plants) are shipped according to their natural growing cycle. During the active growing season (spring through early fall), you'll receive a plant with live foliage, often including vibrant pitchers. In the winter months, Sarracenia naturally enter dormancy, and will be shipped without leaves or with brown, dying pitchers—this is completely normal and essential for the plant's long-term health.
