Bred by Phil Faulisi in 2000 and selected by Travis Wyman in 2004, this coveted cultivar crosses S. oreophila "Sand Mountain" with S. 'Royal Ruby' to produce 28-34 inch pitchers that transform from green with red veining to a deep rose hue as the season progresses. The long, ruffled hoods carry an English rose fragrance, while the puckered nectar roll creates a distinctive fanged effect and the throat veining evokes reptilian skin—traits that earned it registered cultivar status in 2008 and made it a cornerstone of modern Sarracenia breeding.
Our bare root Sarracenia (North American pitcher plants) are shipped according to their natural growing cycle. During the active growing season (spring through early fall), you'll receive a plant with live foliage, often including vibrant pitchers. In the winter months, Sarracenia naturally enter dormancy, and will be shipped without leaves or with brown, dying pitchers—this is completely normal and essential for the plant's long-term health. Please note that the plant and photo shown are representative of the variety but not the exact plant you will receive. Each plant is unique, and we guarantee a healthy, established rhizome ready to grow.
